Massachusetts state flag

Massachusetts adopted the flag in 1901 but it was modified in 1971.The state flag of Massachusetts has been used since the Revolutionary War but it was officially adopted in 1901. The flag had the state coat of arms in the center which had a pine tre efor may years. Later it was replaced by an Algonquin Indian. The right arm above the crest represents that Massachusetts would rather lose its right arm than live under tyranny.
