North Carolina State Flag was adopted in 1885. North Carolina stated its independence from Great Britain in 1775. It was declared during the Mecklenberg Declaration. It was repeted in 1776 through the Halifax Resolves. Two dates printed in the North Carolina flag remind its involvement in the American Revolution, the flag is also represents the state’s secession. The flag resemble to the state’s flag during the Civil War and was designed by General Johnston Jones.
