The Juneteenth Flag is a symbol of the holiday and the struggle for freedom and equality. Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It is celebrated on June 19th, the day that the Union Army arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and free the remaining slaves in the state. The top half is blue and the bottom half is red. The colors are divided by a horizontal arc. There is a white star in the center and a flare surrounding the star. The colors and symbols of the flag are meant to represent the African American community and the struggle for freedom and justice.
