Flintshire Flag is the official flag of the county of Flintshire, Wales. The design of the flag is based on the coat of arms attributed to Edwin, the ruler of the former kingdom of Tegeingl, which covered much of Flintshire. The arms feature a black engrailed fleury cross with fleur-de-lis ends and scalloped edges, on a white field between four choughs, a bird once widespread in the area, in black and red. The flag simplifies the design of the council arms but retains much of the basic symbolism and essential charges of the original arms, making it a more suitable design for use as a flag.
