Malta Flag

(1 customer review)

Malta Flag consists of two equal vertical bands, one in red and the other in white. A representation of Saint George’s cross, outlined in red, is superimposed on the white band, with its upper end in the upper hoist-side corner of the flag. This design was adopted on September 21, 1964, when Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom. The red and white colors of the flag are traditional colors of Malta and are said to represent unity and independence, as well as the country’s Catholic faith. The design of Saint George’s cross represents the country’s ties to England, as well as its historic ties to the Crusades. The Malta flag is a symbol of the country’s rich history and its status as a sovereign nation.
