Mauritius Flag

(1 customer review)

The Mauritius Flag consists of four horizontal stripes of equal width, coloured red, blue, yellow, and green. The red stripe represents the struggle for independence, the blue stripe symbolises the Indian Ocean surrounding the island nation, the yellow stripe represents the new light of independence, and the green stripe represents the agriculture and natural environment of Mauritius. The flag also features a gold outline of the island and three horizontal wavy lines in the lower fly region, representing the sea. The flag was adopted upon independence from the United Kingdom on March 12, 1968.
