Tuvalu Flag

(1 customer review)

The Tuvalu Flag has a light blue background with the Union Jack in the upper left corner and nine stars representing the nine islands of Tuvalu. The rising sun symbolizes the hope and prosperity of the nation, while the stars represent the Polynesian heritage of the Tuvalu people and the nine atolls that make up the island nation. The light blue background represents the ocean surrounding Tuvalu and is also a symbol of faith, trust and loyalty. This flag was officially adopted on October 1, 1978, when Tuvalu gained independence from the United Kingdom, and has been the national flag of Tuvalu ever since.
